Evelyn J. Maldonado

Evelyn J. Maldonado is a graduate of the City University of New York School of Law and graduated cum laude from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice with a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies. She has been a practicing attorney since 2008. She is admitted to practice in the Southern and Eastern District Court of New York.

Currently she has been an active member of the American Immigration Lawyer’s Association (AILA), the American Association of Trial Lawyers and the New York Bar Association. She has been inducted as VIP member of the National Association of Professional Women.

She has worked as a CUNY Staff Immigration attorney for the Program Citizenship Now! including the office of the City Council Darlene Mealy in Brooklyn, the office of the City Council Elizabeth Crowley in Queens, and Project Hospitality in Staten Island. In addition, worked as a staff Immigration attorney for the office of the City Council Fernando Cabrera in the Bronx and the non-profit organization UNLOCAL.

She worked as a Judicial Clerk for the Honorable Ronald Ellis at the Eastern District of New York and worked as an Adjunct Lecturer Professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She has taught Constitutional Law and Spanish for Law Enforcement and Emergency Responders.

Her work on International Law and Law Enforcement has appeared in the SAGE Criminal Law Encyclopedia and Immigration Link Newspaper. She was an Editor of the New York City Law Review and served as Editor-in-Chief of The International Law Newsletter. She was also the Recipient of the New York State Bar Association’s 2004 Law Student Legal Ethics. She worked as a Litigation Paralegal and Law Clerk for different personal injury firms as well as an Immigration firms.
